Admissions
The County Council is responsible for admissions on entry to the school at Reception and full details of the County Council’s admissions policy and procedures are set out in the latest 'Schools in Suffolk' booklet. Children can be admitted to school, full time, at the beginning of the school year in which they become five years old. Children can begin school part-time until the term in which they turn five years old. Parents should note that if they decide to defer their child's Reception place for a year, their child will join the school at Year 1 and will miss the entire reception year at school.
We invite all children who gain a place at Charsfield to join us for a variety of activities in the Summer Term before they are due to begin school. Please see our EYFS Transition page for more information.
Pupils remain at the school until after their eleventh birthday. At the start of the next academic year (September) they commonly transfer to either Thomas Mills or Farlingaye High School depending on their catchment area and parental choice.
If your child/ren would be joining mid-year or in a year group that is not Reception, please contact the school directly if you are considering applying for a place on 01473 737347. We would be delighted to show you around our school.
