Creativity
To explore the value of creativity, we have shared the creation story from the Bible and used this to talk about how beautiful our planet is and what we can do to keep it the way that Christians believe God intended.
We have also read together 'The Day the Crayons Quit' and how the main character in the story uses the crayons for different objects, for example the sea becomes pink, a beach ball is black and a whale is orange. From this the children created their own pictures using different colours for various objects.
Alongside this the children also heard the story 'Beautiful Oops!' and how mistakes or accidents can be turned into something amazing by using your imagination. The children were all given a different 'oops' and had to create something beautiful. I am sure you agree they certainly look amazing!
During our Creativity value children have been challenged to make something out of junk to show their creative side! However, their items had to be made from junk modelling materials, be no bigger than a football and to use their imaginations by thinking outside the box. The children were awarded 3 house points for each entry, 10HP for 1st place, 7HP for 2nd place and 5HP for 3rd place. Take a look below at all the amazing entries we received.
