The School Day
School starts at 8.55am (there is an adult on the playground from 8.50am and pupils should aim to arrive by this time).
School ends at 3.25pm for all children.
Lunch break is from 12.00 noon to 1.00pm.
Morning Playtime: Children in all years go outside to play, whenever possible for a 15 minute break 10.30am to 10.45am. Pupils in class 1 are provided with a healthy snack as part of the Fruit and Veg Scheme. Children in Class 2 and 3 can bring in a healthy snack to eat at breaktime.
Afternoon Snacktime: Children in Class 1 can enjoy a healthy snack brought from home. Where possible we also try to get the children outside for some fresh air too. Children in Class 2 and 3 can bring in a healthy "working" snack to enjoy in the afternoon (we continue our learning whilst eating).
At the beginning and end of the school day, parents are encouraged into the playground. This helps to build up a close relationship between home and school – we want to have good links with all parents. If normal arrangements have to be altered (eg you are delayed or another person is collecting your child), please let us know. This avoids any confusion or upset.
To get to and from school, walking is definitely the best option if it's possible! There are lots of benefits: it’s healthier than travelling by car, it improves the safety of pedestrians and road-users, and it respects nearby residents and parking regulations. If you do need to travel by car due to distance, please drive and park wisely for our neighbours and also the safety of our children. Parents are welcome to park at the village hall (just off St Peter's Close) and walk through the churchyard across to the school.
School Closure
In the event of school being closed, parents are advised to listen to BBC Radio Suffolk as well as referring to the county website (click on Schools in North of county).
